History of the Games
The New Brunswick 55+ Games Inc. was officially formed in 1992 as the governing body responsible for organizing sporting events aimed at promoting active living for adults aged 55 and over. This initiative led to the inaugural New Brunswick 55+ Games in 1993, hosted in Saint John, marking the beginning of a beloved tradition that continues to thrive today.
Since its inception, the 55+ Games have featured a wide range of activities that cater to various interests and skill levels, including lawn bowling, cribbage, bowling, and the ever-popular horseshoes. These activities are designed not only for fun and competition but also to foster community engagement and healthy living among older adults.
