About East Coast Arena Training
The East Coast Arena Training (ECAT) is a two-day course designed for those working in the arena industry. It covers key topics including ice making and maintenance, refrigeration systems, and resurfacing techniques. This training is ideal for operators looking to build or deepen their knowledge of arena operations.
Key Features:
Up-to-date Curriculum: Our East Coast Arena Training covers the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in arena management. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of the multifaceted responsibilities involved in arena operations.
Industry-Experienced Instructors: ECAT Instructors are seasoned professionals with years of hands-on experience in arena operations. Our instructors bring a wealth of real-world knowledge, providing practical insights and guidance to help you excel in your role.
Hands-on training: Participants can put theory into practice with hands-on components of the course. The on-ice portion of the course offers a valuable opportunity to learn from professionals while testing new skills and sharpening previous practices.
Invest in your career
Upon completion of the East Coast Arena Training, you will receive a certificate of completion that attests to your proficiency in arena operations.
ECAT is delivered at two levels:
- Level 1 Basic Course covers the foundational aspects of arena operations and is a prerequisite for Level 2.
- Level 2 takes a deeper dive into more advanced concepts and practices, building on the skills and knowledge gained in Level 1.
This year, Level 2 will be taking place at the Eliyahu Wellness Centre in North Rustico, Prince Edward Island on August 28th & 29th, 2025., while Level 1 is being hosted at the Avenir Centre in Moncton, New Brunswick on August 11th & 12th, 2025. When and where is the course offered?
We aim to host this course once per year in the Spring or Summer as well as a mid-season refresher course in the Winter. We understand that a vast majority of our municipal members have staff who transition between facilities seasonally therefore we aim to align this 2-day course during a time that works best for our members.
