

Physical Literacy

Physical Literacy is the motivation, confidence, physical competence, knowledge and understanding to value and take responsibility for engagement in physical activity for life. It’s an essential ingredient for an active life.
Mission
To provide leadership, education and advocacy for physical literacy in New Brunswick through multi-sectorial engagement and collaboration.
Vision
For New Brunswickers to be physically literate and active for life.
What We Do
We promote and support the development of physical literacy in New Brunswick by:
- Support the coordination and promotion of key physical literacy initiatives of Coalition partners.
- Using social media to promote best practices, programs, events, research, etc.
- Providing presentations to wellness networks, stakeholders, youth leaders, decision makers etc.
- Providing recruitment and training materials for Community Physical Literacy Champions.
- Act as a central point for information relating to physical literacy programming, implementation and resources.

Essential Playbook Training
The PLAYBOOK is a resource designed for you, front-line leaders of children and youth ages 5 to 19. It highlights key elements of quality programming and provides you with information, activities and resources within each of these components:
- Physical Activity : Physical literacy, outdoor play, inclusive activity, active transportation and more!
- Healthy Eating : Nutrition labeling, farm tours, gardening, cooking and fun recipes and more!
- Community Strengths: Partnerships, volunteering, culture, music and dance and more!
- Learning Experiences: Experiential learning, storytelling, play-based learning, and more!
